  • Responsibilities

    Essential Duties:

    • Manage accounting staff in connection with and preparation of information utilized in the quarterly reviews and annual audit of the financial statements.
    • Provide technical accounting GAAP guidance
    • Ensures that company financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP. Responsible for reviewing monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure this compliance.
    • Ensures that the accounting system continues to operate as required. Involved in validating/designing suggested changes to ensure accounting requirements continue to be met.
    • Coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits and reviews of the company financial records. Is further responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings
    • Ensures that the accounting department is staffed with qualified financial personnel capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities, noted above. Responsible for continued development of these associates.
    • Perform continuous assessment of the close process and process re-engineering to reduce the timing to close the financial period
    • Verifies that accounting systems, processes and controls are in place to assure the integrity of the internal accounting data.
    • Assist with the creation of annual and monthly budgets, and controls costs of the organization by coordinating spending with managers and monitoring budgets.
    • Fixed asset management.
    • Manage J-Sox Compliance.
    • Provide leadership/management for a variety of ad hoc initiatives, including but not limited to financial systems improvements and process enhancements
    • Lead month end, quarter end and annual close procedures
    • Lead internal and external financial audits
    • Safeguard company assets to prevent fraudulent transactions
    • All additional job related responsibilities as assigned.
    • Adhere to all policies and procedures related to IATF-16949 and ISO 14001.


    Academic Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
    • Certified Public Accountant
    • Extensive experience with an ERP system (SAP) and IFRS preferred
    • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX or J-SOX) preferred
    • Minimum of at least 10 years combined Public Accounting and Private Industry accounting experience
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in a management role
    • Minimum of  5 years Automotive experience - preferably with both OEM and Aftermarket customers
    • Proven ability to manage, mentor, motivate and delegate tasks to others
    • Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams
    • Ability to analyze and interpret complex technical issues and develop solutions
    • Highly detail oriented and strong analytical skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet strict deadlines
    • Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions
    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
    • Superior verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent planning skills
    • Possess considerable knowledge of industry accounting practices and principles
    • Good conflict resolution and analysis skills and experience working in a multi-cultural environment
    • International Business experience preferred.
