  • Responsibilities

    Essential Duties:

    • Work directly with Server Administrator/Network Engineer to maintain and administer computer network and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
    • Work directly with Server Administrator to Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.
    • Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.
    • Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
    • Generate/maintain software/hardware asset list; Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records.
    • Define, document, implement and maintain backup procedures for all servers and to ensure software license compliance of NOS and back office applications; Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel in order to facilitate required updates or purchases.
    • Generate/maintain site administration manuals.
    • Communicate server/back office application information as required; Maintain disaster recovery plan; Understand/comply with QMS/EMS policy/procedures; Adhere to safety policy/procedures.
    • Assist Operations Support staff
    • Special project coordination assigned by management.
    • Cross train with and provide for other IT associates.
    • All job-related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Academic Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Combination of post-secondary education and/or previous associated work experience commensurate to minimum of 3 years
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Ability to identify and resolve connectivity problems
    • Excellent organization, planning and administration with effective time management
    • Adapt to changing needs in fast paced office and cope with stressful situations
    • Multi-tasking, highly tactful and diplomatic as well as effective communication
    • Advanced computer skills including troubleshooting network connectivity, DNS issues, server maintenance / updates
