  • Responsibilities

    Essential Duties:

    • Independently determine cutting tools inventory by evaluating re-order point/sales data including back order regularly and ensure the inventory level is appropriate.
    • Act as Project Champion for projects that relate to inventory process/system improvement as assigned by the Management or Cutting Tools department in Japan.
    • Lead and establish process for Warehouse team to ensure that the cycle counts are completed in regular basis.
    • Maintain close communications with inside sales, field sales, factory control department in Japan and sales representatives to obtain order forecast of key items and reflect the numbers of order to the inventory.
    • Work with Marketing/Engineering team, Sales team and Management, to add any new products, promotional item into inventory.
    • Create various reports (i.e. Fill rate, on time delivery, etc.) per Manager’s request.
    • Create new part numbers and maintain BOM data in SAP as necessary.
    • Determine and process scrapping obsolete items quarterly and communicate with Warehouse to ensure that the scrapping will be proceeded in timely manner and keep the area clean.
    • Release purchase requisitions from SAP and issue Purchase Order (PO) to Japan factory or local suppliers in dairy basis.
    • Continuously review back orders and expedite ordered item process with Japan and local suppliers.


    Academic Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or minimum of 5 years experience in business, finance, statistics, inventory control or related field
    • Minimum of 4 years experience analyzing data
    • Minimum of 3 years experience with Warehouse Management System (WMS); preferably SAP
    • Minimum of 1 year experience in inventory analysis
    • Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills 
    • Japanese bilingual language skills preferred
    • Ability to understand Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) process and requirement
    • Strong computer skill in MS Office, Excel specifically
    • Excellent Project Management skill

    • Strong organization skill
    • Detail oriented
    • Ability to work independently as well as in the team environment
