  • Overview

    Advanced support for desktop / network software, hardware, peripherals, and advanced network troubleshooting.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:

    • Installation, configuration, deployment and support of software, hardware and peripherals;
    • Advanced networking (wired and wireless) and application troubleshooting.
    • Maintain accurate Ticket creation and resolution in company Help Desk System; appropriate ticket escalation to second level support as required. Update Helpdesk knowledge base with proven resolutions.
    • Network user account setup / modification, ensure security of network and user access.
    • Work with Server Admin to ensure network is performing at highest possible levels in all aspects.
    • Assist Server Admin in server setup / installation and troubleshooting
    • Provide backup support to Server Admin as required.
    • Shared / Backup Responsibilities with Server Admin for network backups and corporate Anti-Virus. Ensuring successful backups and virus definition updates and installations.
    • Assist in documenting and maintaining all desktop configurations, hardware/software installation procedures.
    • End user prioritization and communication regarding problem resolution strategy and scheduled completion;
    • Provide reports to management for JSOX requirements.
    • Proactive approach to identifying/implementing operational enhancements;
    • Rotating on call with IT operations support Technicians.
    • Understand/comply with QMS policy/procedures;
    • Understand/comply with EMS policy/procedures;
    • Adhere to safety policy/procedures.

     

    Other Functions:

    • Special project coordination assigned by management;
    • Flexibility in schedule to provide back coverage.
    • Cross train with and provide for other IT associates
    • Provide backup to other IT Operations Support Personnel
    • General housekeeping duties;
    • Overtime and/or travel as required;
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Combination of post-secondary education and/or previous associated work experience commensurate to minimum 4 years required.
    • Effective time management and the ability to cope with stressful situations
    • Advances computer skills
